What Sudanese travellers should expect
Sudanese citizens generally need a prior approval or visa before travelling to Egypt, and this applies to all family members, including women and children. Details – for example for holders of residence permits in other countries – change from time to time.
That is why we do not give a general answer: we look at your passport, where you are travelling from and the purpose of your trip, and then tell you which route is open to you.
Typical situations we handle
- Families travelling together from Port Sudan or from a third country such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE or Uganda
- Travellers coming for medical treatment in Cairo with an accompanying relative
- Students and their parents
- Relatives joining family members who already live in Egypt
What Al Amir takes care of
- The security approval request for each traveller, handled as one family file
- A flight that matches the validity of the approval
- Pick-up at Cairo Airport
- A furnished apartment in an area where many Sudanese families live, if you wish
What we need from you
- Passport copies of all travellers – please check that each passport is valid for long enough
- The country you will be flying from
- Photos of the flight tickets of all travellers
Security approvals and visas are issued by the Egyptian authorities. Al Amir prepares and submits your request; the decision and the processing time are theirs.
